Manufacturing goods from your outposts is a multi-step process compared to gathering resources via extractors.
These manufactured goods are also worth more credits when you sell them compared to resources. Additionally, once you've unlocked higher level extractors, you will be able to gather resources fairly quickly even without the other robots.
If you want to make the most amount of credits from your outpost, build multiple Engineering Robots for the best results.
Robots increase the amount of goods your Outpost produces by a certain percentage. Of the Robots we have unlocked, you're allowed to build 3 of each, increasing your productivity by up to 30% per Robot type.

Robot module types are unlocked once you research them in the Outpost Development tab in any Research Table.
Once you submit the required resources to complete the research, you'll be able to craft them in any of your outposts.
All modules have a required amount of resources to craft them. Once you've acquired these resources, you can store them in your inventory, with your companion, or on your ship and the game will still consider the crafting conditions met.
Take note that some modules also require power while others have a hard limit on how many of those modules you can craft.
