How to Equip Helmets

Equip From the Inventory Menu

Armor Inventory

You can equip helmets by pressing the Start button(button with three lines) on your Xbox controller then selecting Inventory with the Left stick and pressing the A button.

Choose the Helmets option to choose your preferred Helmet.

Required for Exploration

Helmets are the gear your character is required to equip on their head when exploring outside of major cities on the different planets. They protect you from environmental hazards and hostile elements, similar to Spacesuits.

Hide Helmets to Show Apparel

The game allows you to hide your Helmet when you visit settlements to instead show your equipped Apparel.

How to Mod Helmets

Interact with Spacesuit Workbenches

You can craft Helmet mods by interacting with Spacesuit Workbenches that you can find in many areas, mostly in safe locations.

You can also craft higher-grade mods but this will require the Science skill Spacesuit Design.
