As a bounty hunter, you've tracked down several marks throughout the Settled Systems. Your experience here lets you start with ship-related Tech Skills like Piloting and Targeting Control Systems. Skills that improve your ship's weapons, including Ballistic Weapon Systems and Missile Weapon Systems, will surely help you take down any future targets more quickly.
Whenever you're outside your ship and on planets, having skills to move quickly, including Boost Pack Training, will aid in getting the jump on your bounties. You'll also want to learn Combat Skills such as Lasers and Rifle Certification to be more effective at your job. Medicine and Wellness can round out the build by helping with survivability during firefights.
Weapon | Type | Damage | Ammo Type |
---|---|---|---|
Magshear | Rifle | Phys | .50 MI |
Unmitigated Violence | Laser Rifle | Engy | 3KV LZR |
Va'ruun Painblade | Melee Weapon | Phys | N/A |
Magshear, Unmitigated Violence, and the Va'ruun Painblade are the best weapon choices for Bounty Hunters. The Magshear is a rifle that can deal with groups of enemies and melt harder targets, making them a good all-around weapon. Unmitigated Violence is a laser weapon that can allow Bounty Hunters to pick off targets from afar in a single shot. While the Va'ruun Painblade as a melee weapon is a good backup for close and personal encounters.
Best Weapons: Weapon Tier List
The Bounty Hunter build already has skills and traits that boost health and oxygen, but additional protection from armor will be needed so you don't end up as the hunted. Equip armor that can reduce all types of damage to deal with any threat.
Alien DNA |
You volunteered for a controversial experiment that combines alien and human DNA. As a result, you start with increased health and oxygen, but healing and food items aren't as effective. |
---|---|
Neon Street Rat |
You grew up on the mean streets of Neon. You gain access to special dialogue options, and better rewards from some missions on Neon. Crime bounty by other factions is greatly increased. (Can't be combined with any other faction allegiance trait.) |
Serpent's Embrace |
You grew up worshiping the Great Serpent. Grav jumping provides a temporary boost to health and oxygen, but health and oxygen are lowered if you don't continue jumping regularly - like an addiction. (Can't be combined with any other religion trait.) |
As a Bounty Hunter, you'll be on your ship often to hunt down any targets throughout the Settled Systems. Neon Street Rat is a natural fit for this to increase your rewards from early on in the game. You can also have Serpent's Embrace, as you'll likely be grav jumping often enough for the drawback to barely matter. Alien DNA is yet another trait that boosts health and oxygen and can be somewhat mitigated with the Medicine skill.
Starting Skills | Description |
---|---|
Piloting |
As more people journey into space, the number of those certified to effectively pilot various types of spacecraft has increased dramatically. |
Boost Pack Training |
Specialized training and innovations in personal mobility systems have allowed for unfettered exploration on alien worlds. |
Targeting Control Systems |
Missile weapons are favored because they can lock onto an enemy ship, but an intimate knowledge of tracking systems can make them even more effective. |
