A quick and easy way to remove the stolen label is by selling the item and buying it back from the Trade Authority. This method works because the Trade Authority can buy stolen items, and when they do buy it, the stolen label will disappear since it is now ''theirs''. Then, you will simply need to buy it back from them.
If you ever get caught stealing an item, you will need to pay a fine and you will lose any stolen items you have on your inventory. This is because the security will confiscate all stolen items you have on hand, even if it is not the item you got caught for.
This can make it a pain to equip any stolen weapons or armor since they can be easily confiscated. If you plan on using any stolen equipment, it may be best to have the stolen label removed.
