In Memoriam Bug Solutions
Quest Marker Does Not Show After Speaking to Admiral Logan
There have been reports of bugs where the quest marker does not point the player to the next location.
Restart the Save
Quicksaving then Quickloading or loading a previous savepoint will usually reset some back-end variables and fixes some minor bugs.
Change Quest Market Options
Your tracked quest may have changed. Set your tracked quest to another one then set it back to In Memoriam.
Proceed to Cassiopeia I
There have been reports that you can open the map and the crash site will be unlocked. Open the Starmap and search for Cassiopeia I within the ETA Cassiopeia System.
Cannot Talk to Sona
When you get back to New Atlantis, you may encounter a bug where you cannot progress the quest due to Sona not responding to you.
Finish the Missed Beyond Measure Quest
In order to fix this bug, finish the Missed Beyond Measure quest that also takes place in the lodge.

How to Get Likes from Sarah
To increase your friendship with Sarah Morgan and gain access to the In Memoriam side quest, you must get enough likes through different interactions with her:
- Travel together with Sarah as a companion.
- Get Likes by choosing the Flirt, Romance, Commitment, and other good options during dialogues with Sarah
- Always do a Quicksave before starting a dialogue in case you get Dislikes.
- Maintain good notoriety and don't attack friendly NPCs

In Memoriam Walkthrough and Objectives
Main Objectives
1-2. Proceed to New Atlantis and Speak to Admiral Logan
Sarah will ask for your help in uncovering the fate of a ship she once commanded. Head to New Atlantis and find Admiral Logan inside the Central Command of the MAST building.
After speaking with him, he’ll provide you with the coordinates of the crash site on Cassiopeia I.
3-7. Proceed to Cassiopeia I and Proceed to Sarah's Old Campsite
Set a course for Cassiopeia I in the Eta Cassiopeia System and land at the marked crash site.
From there, head toward the location of Sarah’s old campsite - the place she sheltered before being rescued by the UC.
8-10. Retrieve and Install the Emergency Power Cell to Analyze the Telemetry Data
Sarah once used an Emergency Power Cell to set up a rescue beacon. That same beacon, located on a nearby plateau, can now be salvaged to power the ship’s systems.
Climb to the plateau, recover the power cell, and return to the crashed ship module beside the campsite. Install the cell to restore power, then access the onboard computer to review the Telemetry Data.
11. Investigate the Shuttle Crash Site
You have discovered the location of the other shuttle that has crashed along with Sarah. Proceed to the other crash site by traveling with your ship.
Continue following the path through the lush forest until you discover a treehouse made from salvaged ship parts.
12-13. Speak to the Mysterious Girl and Sarah
Inside the treehouse, you'll encounter Sona, a cautious young girl and the sole survivor of the second shuttle crash. During the conversation, you’ll learn she is the daughter of Sarah’s fallen crewmates.
After meeting her, Sarah will ask you to recover her colleagues’ UC Genetags from a nearby graveyard to honor their memory.
14. Collect the Genetags
Leave the treehouse and head up to the nearby graveyard - a small burial site marking the fallen crew of the UC Dauntless. Locate and collect the nine genetags placed atop the makeshift tombstones.
Once you’ve picked up the nine, be prepared - soon after, a Greater Silverfish will appear. Defeat it and loot its remains to obtain the 10th genetag, completing the set.
These areas can be hostile - keep an eye out for Coralbug Scavengers on the path up and be ready for the Silverfish’s powerful attacks.
15-17. Allow Sona to Stay or Convince Her to Leave
When you return to the treehouse, you’ll find Sarah and Sona in a heated discussion about whether Sona should remain on Cassiopeia I or leave with you. Sarah isn't certain what's best and defers to your judgment.
Before speaking with Sona, make a manual save — this allows you to explore both dialogue branches. You can either:
- Convince Sona to stay on the planet. (Sarah will dislike this choice.)
- Encourage Sona to leave and come with you. (This is the recommended option, as it ensures Sona’s safety and keeps Sarah’s approval.)
18-19. Proceed to the Overlook and Speak to Sarah
While you let Sona pack her stuff or leave her in the treehouse, Sarah will invite you to talk with her on a nearby outlook. She will express her feelings about you and Sona's decision.
20-21. Return to New Atlantis and Speak to Sona
| Bug Warning: Players may encounter a bug where they cannot initiate a conversation with Sona. You will have to finish the Funeral Quest to fix this bug. |
Return the genetags to Admiral Logan back in the MAST in New Atlantis.
If you brought Sona, you can speak to her in The Lodge and initiate her as the newest member of The Constellation.
22-25. Lead Sarah to the Colony War Memorial and to the Waterfall in New Atlantis
Escort Sarah into the Colony War Memorial. After paying respects to her fallen colleagues, she invites you to meet her in New Atlantis' waterfall.
In this conversation near the waterfall, you can finish the quest by choosing the Romance or Friendship dialogue options.

Anonymous about 2 yearsCannot continue quest after : "lead sarah to waterfall" is done without any dialog trigger "Talk to sarah" wont just trigger anything new Sarah is hanging around the lodge now with the blue dot, that does not trigger anything This is blocking progressing in the main story line, "into the unknown"
