Your ship's Landing Bay is what you go through when entering or exiting your ship when docked on a planet's surface. It is mostly a cosmetic aside from this purpose.

The Landing Bay is not properly connected to the Cockpit. There should be a clear path within the interior of your ship from the Landing Bay to the Cockpit.
Check for the entrance of your Landing bay and connect it to the Cockpit through Hab Modules. Entry points are represented by arrow icons as shown in the image above.
