Recruit Randomly During New Game Plus

Starfield - Alternate Self New Game Plus

Your alternate self can only be recruited during a New Game Plus where you meet them at the Lodge. This event occurs randomly, so you may need to re-enter the Unity several times if you want to have yourself as a companion.

They share your name, but the game will sometimes refer to them as "You?".

Alternate Self is not a romance option in Starfield and you won't be able to start a relationship with them.

Bring as a Companion

You (and the alternate You) have experience as a miner for Argos Extractors, which needs toughness to survive. Pain Tolerance and Wellness both make sure they won't go down easily while following you.

Unfortunately, they don't say anything about other characters like fellow Argos miners Lin and Heller or your parents if you have Kid Stuff.
