Starfield Difficulty Differences

5 Difficulty Settings

There are currently 5 difficulty settings in Starfield. Changing the difficulty levels affects the damage dealt, damage received, and the chance to encounter Legendary enemies.

Difficulty Damage Dealt Damage Received
Very Easy 2x 0.25x - 0.5x
Easy 1.5x 0.5x - 0.75x
Normal 1x 1x
Hard 0.75x 1.5x
Very Hard 0.5x 2x

Survival or Hardcore Could Be Added Later On

Survival or hardcore difficulty, which was called Legendary in Skyrim and Survival mode in Fallout 4, was added on post-launch for these games, so Starfield may also not receive hardcore/survival this difficulty on launch.

No Achievements for Difficulty

There will be no trophies and achievements related to difficulty. As such, all achievements can be earned on any difficulty, so feel free to play on any difficulty you desire.
