How to Modify Weapons

Use the Workbench to Attach Mods

Starfield - Installing Weapon Mod
When you have acquired or crafted the mod you want to attach, go to a Weapon Workbench and attach the mods to your weapon of choice. This is the part where you spend your resources, so be sure to have enough!

Where to Find Weapon Workbenches

Install One Mod per Slot Type

Starfield - Weapon Mod Slots

Each weapon has a number of weapon slots that can take mods. You can only install one mod per type of slot, so you can't have multiple types of optics or magazines in a single weapon. Notably, melee weapons can't be modded.
