Refuse Maldonaldo's Offer (Option 1)

1. Find Bonifac Maksimov on Hawley
2. Speak to Bonifac
3. Find Maldonado
4. Confront Maldonado
5. Speak to Maldonado
6. Kill Maldonaldo
7. Collect the Stolen Data
8. Return to Helena

Accept Maldonaldo's Offer (Option 2)

1. Find Bonifac Maksimov on Hawley
2. Speak to Bonifac
3. Find Maldonado
4. Confront Maldonado

1-2. Find and Speak to Bonifac Maksimov on Hawley

Head to the Abandoned Outpost on Hawley and fight your way through the Ecliptic Enemies.

Follow your quest objective marker which will lead you to a captive Bonifac, and talk to him.

3. Find Maldonado

Bonifac claims that Maldonado was the person behind his kidnapping, and following the quest marker, you will find Maldonado deeper into the Outpost.

4. Confront Maldonado

Confront Maldonado, and during your conversation, you will be asked to choose if you will accept or decline Maldonado's offer.

Should You Accept Maldonaldo's Offer?

6-7. Kill Maldonado and Collect Stolen Data (Refuse Maldonado's Offer)

If you refuse Maldonado's Offer, he will immediately become hostile, and attack you. You must then loot the Private: Reliant Medical slate from his corpse to bring back to Helena.

Refusing Maldonado's offer is liked by Constellation Companions, so choose this if you want to improve your affinity with them.

6. Kill Bonifac (Accept Maldonado's Offer)

If you accept Maldonado's offer, he will reward you with more credits, but Bonifac will turn hostile and attack you. You must then kill Bonifac to progress the quest.

Do note that Constellation Companions will likely hate this decision, and affect your affinity with them negatively.

8. Return to Helena (Both Choices)

Regardless if you chose to accept or refuse Maldonado's Offer, you must return to Helena and tell her about what happened.

Accepting Maldonado's Offer opens dialogue options where you Lie to Helena, but all lead to the same outcome, and will end the quest.

Accept or Refuse Maldonaldo's Offer?

Accepting the Offer

Accepting Maldonaldo's offer will net you more credits in total, as Maldonaldo will hand you over 4000 Credits on the spot then get 1300 Credits Helena once you report back. That's 5300 Credits in total.

Refusing the Offer

If you choose to refuse the offer and give the data back to Helena, she will give you 3700 credits, or if you mention ''I refused Maldonaldo's offer, you should up your credit reward,'' then you'll receive 4800 credits in total instead, which is only a 500 credit difference.

However, your decision will affect your relationship with your companion as accepting the offer will show your lack of integrity.
