Tiles make up your exploration in Starfield meaningful. Learn how do tiles works, and how this helps create an immersive experience for players.
List of Contents
Whenever you land on a planet, you'll be placed inside a tile that procedurally generates landscapes, points of interests, and other elements to make your experience immersive. This will then be saved in your system, so that when you return, you'll see the same stuff and not generate other elements from scratch.
Wandering around too far, you'll eventually reach the tile's boundary. You'll have to travel to another landing spot if you wish to go to a different area of the same planet, which will generate another tile for you to explore.
