Upgrade Grav Drive by talking to Ship Services Technicians in Starfield. Read on to learn how to upgrade Grav Drive and increase Grav Jump Range.
List of Contents
You can relocate power from your ships Reactor into different parts of your ships, including the Grav Drive.
The Grav Drive will need at least one bar of power allocated to it to initiate Grav Jumps. Having more power will shorten the wait before the ship initiates a Grav Jump.
Use the Arrow Keys for PC and the D-pad for console to interact with the power relocation menu of your ship.
Keybinds and Controls for PC and Xbox
Ship parts and upgrades, including the Grav Drive, are available through the Ship Services Technicians. These NPCs are available throughout all the Major Cities and will always be close by the starports.
Through the Ship Builder Menu, you can purchase a new Grav Drive with a Grav Jump Thrust and replace it with the old one. A better Grav Jump Thrust value is required for ships with higher mass.
Note that the better Grav Drives are more expensive and have higher mass. Higher mass can affect your ship's mobility.
Alternatively, the Ship Services Technicians also provides an upgrade menu which in which you can replace parts already in your ship to other parts in that category.
Ship Building and Customization Guide
Ship Services Technicians also sell full-fledged ships. You may want to consider buying a new ship instead if you do not want to use the ship building and customizations feature.
HE3 Fuel Tanks provide you with more Grav Jump fuel and therefore allows you to travel further without stopping.
The ship's Mass not only affects mobility, but it also affects the Grav Jump Thrust required to initiate a Grav Jump. Look into buying stronger Grav Drives for more long range travel and lighter ones for small ships meant more for combat or shorter skirmishes.
