Start the Overdesigned Side Quest
The Kepler S ship is a reward from the Overdesigned side quest. You will need to complete the High Price to Pay mission first and then go to The Lodge in New Atlantis to start this quest.
Overdesigned Walkthrough and Choices
Kepler R As An Alternate Reward
If not the Kepler S, you can get the Kepler R ship as a reward for completing the Overdesigned quest. You will need to make different choices from the next steps to do this.
Push for a Smaller Budget With Jules
The first step to getting the Kepler S is to choose a smaller budget while talking to Jules. This leads to a persuasion check with Frank.
Persuade Frank for a Smaller Budget
The deciding factor in getting the Kepler S is convincing Frank to cut costs for a smaller budget. You need to succeed in a persuasion check so be sure to save before talking to him.
It's best to rank up the Persuasion Skill or obtain other items that grant this buff to guarantee success.
What Happens If You Fail to Persuade Frank
You cannot get the Kepler S if you fail the persuasion check. Don't worry, you still get the Kepler R after convincing Jules to get a bigger budget but you will also need to pay 100,000 credits.
Propose a Compromise
You will have to choose between suggesting a compromise or team building exercise to help Jules and the team out after you complete the two missions.
If you successfully persuaded Frank, you can get the Kepler S after you choose to compromiseーchecked through our own playthrough.
Get the Kepler S Ship
Complete the quest objectives and talk to Walter Stroud to get the Kepler S. You can find the ship's details in your data menu and collect the Kepler S at the Stroud-Eklund Staryard in the Narion star system.
