Which Effigies to Choose?
At the end of The Promised, Broken, you must select 2 effigies to place on the dais. The 2 effigies you choose will determine what the NPCs will call you throughout the questline. Below is the breakdown of the different effigy combinations.

| Effigy of Strength and Effigy of Perseverance | Vindicator | Someone who proves something correct/right or acquits a defendant of wrongdoing |
| Effigy of Obedience and Effigy of Strength | Armiger | Squire / arms-bringer |
| Effigy of Obedience and Effigy of Perseverance | Adherent | Someone who obeys/follows a guiding ideology or set of rules |
| Effigy of Devotion and Effigy of Strength | Harbinger | A herald / someone who signals the coming of another |
| Effigy of Devotion and Effigy of Perseverance | Diviner | Prophet / soothsayer |
The Promised, Broken Walkthrough
| 1 | Go to the City of Dazra and Talk to the NPCs |

 Go to Dazra City, located on the Planet Va'ruun'kai in the Kavnyk System, and talk to all the necessary NPCs to progress the quest. |

| 2 | Follow Malibor Dul'kehf and Talk to Inaza |
 Follow Malibor Dul'kehf, and he will eventually lead you to Inaza Kaisir. Talk to her and tell her that you are ready to progress the quest. |

| 3 | Walk the Serpent's Path |
 Follow the quest markers until you eventually reach the end of the Serpent's Path. Note that you will have to wait for Inaza's dialogues to finish before the quest markers change and lead you to the next area. There are optional objectives related to the ritual that you can complete. These have no major effect on the story. Inaza just tells you "there is always more we can do to serve." |

| 4 | (Optional) Cast Aside Your Burdens |
 One of the optional objectives of the Serpent's Path is to Cast Aside Your Burdens in the Sacrificial Brazier. You just need to store 1 item in the flame. It can be any item, so we recommend dropping a resource, unimportant note, or miscalleaneous item. Don't sacrifice anything important, as there doesn't seem to be a way to get it back aside from reloading to a previous save. |

| 5 | (Optional) Make a Leap of Faith |
 Midway through the Serpent’s Path ritual, you'll come across a wide chasm with a cascading waterfall for the Make a Leap of Faith optional objective. To complete it, don’t take the safer stair path to the right; instead, get a running start, leap boldly, and activate your jetpack. |

| 6 | (Optional) Sacrifice the Groat |
 As you near the end of the Serpent’s Path, you’ll encounter a cage. Once Inaza finishes speaking, the cage opens and releases a young Groat. At this point, you’re given the Sacrifice the Groat optional objective: kill the creature to symbolically prove your devotion to House Va’ruun. It's purely optional and doesn’t impact the quest’s overall outcome.. |

| 7 | Finish the Ritual and Talk to Inaza |
 Finish the Ritual by selecting two effigies and placing them on the altar. Depending on which effigies you choose, the NPCs will give you a different name. |

| 8 | Talk to Malibor Dul'kehf |
 Follow the quest marker, which will lead you to Malibor Dul'kehf and talk to him. |
|
| 9 | Talk to Ekris |
 Follow the quest Marker which will lead you to Ekris. The quest will end after a bit of dialogue with Ekris and a new quest, Aligning the Houses will start. |
