Spend 4 Skill Points in the Social Tree
As Negotiation is a higher-tier Advanced skill, it is unlocked by spending a total of 4 skill points in the Social skill tree before it can be learned.

How to Rank Up Negotiation Skill

| 1 | Spend a total of 4 Skill Points in the Social tree. | You now have access to Bribery in speech challenges. |
| 2 | Bribe 3 times through persuasion. | Reduces bribery cost by 25%. |
| 3 | Bribe 5 times through persuasion. | Reduces bribery cost by 50%. |
| 4 | Bribe 10 times through persuasion. | Occasionally, bribery won't cost any money. |
Pick Negotiation During Persuasion
To rank up Negotiation, you'll need to successfully use persuasion by spending credits to bribe your targets. Unfortunately, there's no repeatable way to do this, so the best way to level up the skill would be to learn it early and always choose a Negotiation option when available during persuasion.
Side Quests With Bribery
There are activities and side quests where you can bribe your way during persuasion. These are mostly found in Neon, where bribery is rampant. A few examples are the activity where you need to convince Sieghart for James Newill, the Late Bloomer and Superfan missions, as well as some missions in the Ryujin Industries and Ebbside Strikers questlines.
