Ghost of Yōtei's release date has been revealed alongside a new trailer that showcases its story and gameplay. Read on to learn more about when the game will launch and its digital deluxe and collector’s editions.
Ghost of Yōtei New Trailer

PlayStation and Sucker Punch Productions announced the release date for Ghost of Tsushima’s sequel, Ghost of Yōtei. On April 23, Ghost of Yōtei dropped a new trailer titled "The Onryō’s List", showcasing the game's story and some gameplay footage. The trailer ends with the game’s release date, October 2, 2025.
Ghost of Yōtei follows the story of Atsu in the heart of Ezo (Hokkaido in the present day), seeking revenge against the group of outlaws known as the Yōtei Six, who killed her family and left her for dead. Her goal is to hunt all of them one by one: The Snake, The Oni, The Kitsune, The Spider, The Dragon, and Lord Saito.
The game is a standalone sequel, set 300 years after the events of Ghost of Tsushima. Earlier this year, the developers provided more information on some of its features, including a plethora of new weapons, new mechanics, and more, building upon the success of its predecessor.
Hunt Down The Yōtei Six Your Way
Ghost of Yōtei lets players hunt down the Yōtei Six in any order they want, allowing them to carve their path of revenge. Sucker Punch detailed the game’s features on PlayStation.blog on April 23, and explained more about Atsu’s journey and how it will unfold.
According to the post, the game will have an evolved way to explore the open world, giving players more freedom and variety compared to Ghost of Tsushima. Other than hunting down the outlaws, players will have a slew of things to do in the new area of Ezo. The post reads, "Atsu can also track other dangerous targets and claim bounties, or seek out weapon sensei to learn new skills."
As players explore, fans of the series will experience some of the activities from the previous game, including the returning fan-favorite feature "Guiding Wind." There will also be a new mechanic that allows players to build a campfire anywhere in the open world. Freedom to choose what to do in the vast land of Ezo is the main focus of the developers, and they can’t wait to share more in the upcoming months.
Pre-Orders, Digital Deluxe, and Collector’s Edition
Pre-orders for Ghost of Yōtei begin next week, on May 2 at 10:00 AM ET. The standard edition of Ghost of Yōtei will be $69.99 and will be available at retail or the PlayStation Store. The game offers pre-order bonuses for any edition, which include the following:
● Atsu + Yōtei Six Avatar Set
● In-Game Mask
The Digital Deluxe Edition will be at $79.99, with more in-game bonuses, including an armor set, alternate dye, horse, and more. Players will also have early unlock for the Traveler’s Map, allowing them to find statues in the open world to upgrade their skills. Here is the full list of the digital deluxe edition bonuses:

Although Ghost of Yōtei pre-orders aren’t available until May 2, players can now wishlist it on the PlayStation Store. More information will come as the game approaches its release date.
