⚫︎ Larian Studios released Patch 8 for Baldur’s Gate 3 today, bringing a wave of new content that has the potential to reignite excitement for the game well over a year after its launch. Among the highlights are several new subclasses and the introduction of a powerful new cantrip: Booming Blade.
Available to spellcasting classes from Level 1, Booming Blade enhances a melee weapon attack with a debuff that deals 1d8 Thunder damage if the target moves. The spell scales with character level, later adding up to 2d8 extra Thunder damage to the initial hit—making it a strong option for melee-focused spellcasters.

⚫︎ Larian Studios has released Patch 8 for Baldur’s Gate 3, officially marking the game’s final content update. The patch introduces crossplay across PC, Mac, PlayStation, and Xbox, a photo mode, a dozen new subclasses, and long-awaited split-screen multiplayer support for Xbox Series S.
To commemorate the milestone, Larian published a farewell blog post accompanied by a final animated short. The video features the game’s cast embarking on one last adventure, complete with a fourth wall-breaking cameo by Larian CEO Swen Vincke, suited up in his iconic armor.

⚫︎ One year after its announcement, Baldur's Gate 3 has officially launched in early access on Steam, GOG, and Google Stadia. The release follows multiple delays, including a previous target date of September 30, and an earlier mid-2020 projection from developer Larian Studios.
This early-access build of the game only included the game’s first act, a customizable player character, and five playable origin characters, including Astartion, Gale, Lae’zel, Shadowheart, and Wyll.
