How to Unlock Marksmanship
Spend 8 Skill Points in the Combat Tree
As Marksmanship is a higher-tier Expert skill, it is unlocked by spending a total of 8 skill points in the Combat skill tree before it can be learned.

How to Rank Up Marksmanship Skill
All Rank Challenges and Effects

| 1 | Spend a total of 8 Skill Points in the Combat tree. | Increase critical hit chance with non-automatic ranged weapons by 3%. |
| 2 | Deal 10 ranged critical hits. | Increase critical hit chance with non-automatic ranged weapons by 8%. |
| 3 | Deal 30 ranged critical hits. | Increase critical hit chance with non-automatic ranged weapons by 15%. |
| 4 | Deal 75 ranged critical hits. | Critical hits using a non-automatic ranged weapon without a scope do double damage and those with scopes knock down enemies on the next shot. |
Use a Pistol for More Critical Hits
Though only non-automatic weapons benefit from the Marksmanship skill, this doesn't mean you're stuck with a slow firing weapon. Pistols with the Hair Trigger and Binary Trigger Weapon Mods allow them to shoot almost, if not faster, than some automatic weapons do. Additionally, the Pistol Certification Skill gives a 5 second buff which grants an additional 25% chance to deal a critical hit whenever you kill with a pistol.
Alternatively, Scoped weapons with 3 ranks of Sniper Certification get an additional 25% chance to deal a critical hit when dealing a headshot with a scoped weapon.
