Weight training can significantly increase one's ability to carry weapons and equipment, both in space and on the ground. |
As Weight Lifting is a Novice skill, it can be learned without having to spend skill points on other skills in the Physical skill tree. You just need to spend a skill point on Weight Lifting to learn it.
The Weight Lifting skill is automatically learned by the following backgrounds:

You can make yourself sprint further and faster in several ways, such as movement speed buffs or O2 recovery. These buffs can be acquired from multiple sources, varying from temporary to more permanent effects.

Personal Atmosphere is one of the many available Starborn Powers the player may acquire. This power depletes all your CO2 build-up, recovers all of your missing oxygen, and provides an unlimited amount of O2 for a duration allowing you to sprint indefinitely for the duration of the buff.
