| A seldom seen bird wyvern that dwells in the Citadel highlands. It roosts up in the mountains, offering little chance for humans to catch a glimpse of it. On the occassion that it descends to the Citadel, the creature remains as still as a statue, with some even referring to it as a phantom. Though its wings appear black, when unfurled, they reveal a striking gold pattern. Truly a sight to behold. | |||
Like all Rare Endemic Life, Gargolda should be photographed in game in order to get its entry in the Hunter's Notes. Try using the Greeting in the Action Bar in front of it and see how it reacts!
How to Take Pictures with the Camera: Photo Mode
You'll be able to find Gargolda near sunset around the cliffs of Area 4 of the Citadel. To reach this time, go on an Expedition Tour during Daytime then wait a few minutes at where Gargolda perches. You'll be able to spot it easily if you go near the location of the 2nd Relic Record in the locale. You should also see a Scale Lizard right where Gargolda appears.
To get there quickly, fast travel to the Sub-camp, then make your way up to the location of the Relic Record in Area 4. Look around the marked area to find Gargolda!
Citadel Map Guide
If you don't find Gargolda there, try fast travelling to a camp and head back. Though its appearance is random, it should appear in one specific place only, like all Rare Endemic Life. You can also try waiting for a few minutes until it appears.
