Official Description | |||
A pheasant with a giant red vocal sac. It sounds like a crying child, which it uses to attract large monsters, that will, in turn, distract its predators. Hunters capture and use Wailnards to lure large monsters to their vicinity. It is a usually docile creature that spends most of its time in hiding. Despite its wings, it's not very good at flying. |
The Wailnard is an endemic life that can be a very useful tool if you want to draw a Large Monster to your location. Be warned as the call of a Wailnard attracts multiple monsters to your vicinity. This may cause a Turf War between two large monsters which you can take advantage of. To learn more about Turf Wars, click on the button link below!
Turf Wars
Keep in mind that the call of the Wailnard is set on a limited rippling sphere. Large monsters beyond the radius of their call cannot hear their cries, and thus cannot be lured.
With the call of the Wailnard attracting Large Monsters, Turf Wars are bound to be started. Use this to your advantage as large monsters weakened by Turf Wars are easier to ride.
The Wailnard cannot be used while inside a camp or other areas that monsters cannot reach. This may be done intentionally as a deterrent against glitching your way into defeating a monster or something similar.
