Type | Hunting Helper | ||
Official Description | |||
Insects with sharp horns that live in colonies affixed to tree branches. If attacked, their horns will stick out in a defensive position. Their horns are so tough that they can even pierce the thick hide on the bottom of a monster's foot. They are often used by hunters as a natural trap or as a means to slow down or turn away pursuers. |
Trapbugs is ideally used when you know that the monster is headed towards that specific path or direction. Lining Trapbugs behind you as you run away can also help you in escaping pursuers. Trapbugs stay on the ground indefinitely until they are eventually stepped on by large monsters.
If you are being chased by a Large Monsters, Trapbugs can make them flinch leaving them open for an attack. You can also use this time for a quick potion chug or a cheeky Whetstone weapon sharpening!
If you have your Palamute with you, you can look for endemic life using their Sniff 'em Out! ability.
