| A species of hermit crab found in the Jungle. These creatures favor damp, dark places, and are often found quietly inhabiting caves devoid of sunlight. Their poor eyesight means they can only identify other creatures of considerable size. Despite resembling a beautiful purple crystal, they are aggressive and attack anything that invades their territory with precision and gusto. | |||
Slicercrabs will attack any monster that enters their territory. They fire spikes toward a monster from their crystal-like carapace to deal chip damage. Each Slicercrab will fire thrice at short intervals.
Slicercrabs will deal significantly more damage against toppled or trapped monsters. Upon testing the use of a Slicercrab in the Sunbreak Demo, we found each Slicercrab will fire 10 hits, each of them hitting for around 45 to 50 damage. Since there are three Slicercrabs, they can deal up to 1,500 damage in total! With good timing, they might even flinch the monster once it gets up.
It's a good idea to use Wyvern Riding or other techniques such as using a Stinkmink to lure Monsters to the area with Slicercrabs and a Marionette Spider to quickly topple them and take advantage of their effectiveness.

According to their description, Slicercrabs can only be found in the Jungle. Three Slicercrabs also only appear in a single area—the underground of Area 8. Be sure to plan out a way to lure monsters here if you want to use them!
