To get Afflicted Pelt, you have to go on A★1 Anomaly Quests to hunt down specific Afflicted Monsters. We've listed them below for your convenience. For every broken part and every carve (body or tail), you will have a 40% chance to get Afflicted Pelt.

You can also obtain Afflicted Pelt from breaking parts and carving the same monsters listed above in Lv. 1–30 Anomaly Investigations.
Beyond these levels, you may receive anywhere between 1 to 5 Afflicted Pelt as a Quest Bonus Reward in addition to the higher tier afflicted material, but you won't get them as carve or break rewards anymore.
We recommend hunting an Afflicted Great Wroggi with a Light Bowgun build like the one linked below to easily farm for Afflicted Pelt.
Use this ranged weapon to create some distance between you and the monster to lessen the risk of being hit with a powerful move while dealing damage from far away as quickly as you can.

Upon reaching Anomaly Research Level 101, you'll be able to exchange 10 Investigation Coins for an Afflicted Pelt at Bahari's Anomaly Research Lab.
You can use Afflicted Pelt to augment your weapon at the Smithy. Afflicted Pelt gives you a total of 2 points. Please note that you can only augment Rarity 10 weapons!

please check inquiries and go over that build i have found 3 huge issues and mistakes with it after you claimed to fixed the article if you need me to tell you here are 3 things i noticed so far including the previous comments i made and am now adding onto: 1: leg armor missing 2: 3 attack jewel 2 on build but not listed in skills 3: 1 salvo jewel 3 in build but lists as already having a rapid fire up lv2 and none of the armor listed gives that skill PLEASE FIX THE BUILD!!! >:(
