The Fractal Glaive Boltlagia can be a good alternative weapon to take advantage of the build's high thunder resistance. Using this weapon with the build greatly enhances thunder damage, making it a good build against monsters vulnerable to thunder.

This build focuses on high damage and affinity, and with the Nu Udra gamma armor, it's possible to fit in more skills to achieve 100% affinity while maintaining high raw.

Lord's Soul is also a staple for high difficulty quests as it provides a constant 5% attack buff while the Guts isn't used. It can also act as a safety net to survive a powerful attack.

If using a craftable talisman, use the Challenger Charm II to max out Agitator.

The Artian weapon Diprielcha is still the best weapon you can get as of TU2, so continue focusing on Attack Infusion with 3 matching Element Infusions for huge damage boosts on the Insect Glaive. You'll still have enough affinity coming from your armor skills, so you can opt to just have at most 1 Affinity bonus or infusion in your weapon.

For a Non-Artian alternative, Blazing Katir from the Zoh Shia tree is a good raw damage choice thanks to its skill Whiteflame Torrent which consistently gives 50 flat damage on proc.

This build is an improvement over the existing HR36++ build with Zoh Shia gear pieces taken for HR50++. It maintains the same number of Agitator, Critical Boost, Weakness Exploit, Antivirus, Constitution, and Coalescence skills – with an additional 1 Burst for more raw damage.

It also builds more towards comfort with the inclusion of Super Recovery I (for passive healing past red health) and Ward of Wyveria (damage reduction from elemental/guardian-based attacks), making it a comfortable set to use for farming Zoh Shia.

Best Mantle

For this build, the Corrupted Mantle is still the best choice for maximizing damage. Note that the bonus affinity only activates after hitting a certain number of attacks so make sure to play aggressviely when you use this mantle to maximize damage.

Build Playstyle and Combos

The recommended playstyle to maximize the build is as follows:

Always try to initiate with a Sneak Attack to inflict huge damage and equip the Corrupted Mantle immediately.
Start charging your Kinsect: Harvest Extract and fire it directly through the head of the monster to easily obtain all 3 Extract Buffs.
Toggle Focus Mode on, start charging your Descending Slash, and time its release on a monster attack to initiate an Offset.
When in a tight spot, vault into the air to dodge and you can start doing the Midair Helicoptor Combo from here to easily mount and try knocking the monster down.
When mounting, make sure to leave an extra open wound before dismounting so you always have a choice to destroy the wound with Focus Thrust: Leaping Strike to restore all 3 Extract Buffs.
Once the monster is knocked down, you can proceed to dish out all your damage with the Strong Infinite Ground Combo and topping it off with Rising Spiral Slash.

The best playstyle for this Insect Glaive build is to simply collect Extracts while attacking and breaking wounds, perform aerial combos for mounting and hitting difficult parts, and execute ground combos to dish out huge damage. Do not forget to make use of the Offset capabilities of Descending Slash for both ground and aerial, and only use your Rising Spiral Slash when you are sure that you can land all hits to maximize the Extracts you spent.

Make sure to equip your Corrupted Mantle as often as you can since this provides high affinity and additional hits for your attacks, making Burst activate easier. Another great tip that will increase both your survivability and damage is to always attack with Focus Mode on as this provides more damage, allows you to extract Buffs, and easily execute Focus Thrust: Leaping Strike and Rising Spiral Slash!

Save Aerial combos for mounting and hitting difficult parts, as these consume stamina, and do not benefit from Maximum Might. Do not forget to make use of the Offset capabilities of Descending Slash for both ground and aerial, and only use your Rising Spiral Slash when you are sure that you can land all hits to maximize the Extracts you spent.

This build primarily uses the Diprielcha Artian Insect Glaive with full 3x Attack Boost and 3x Paralysis production infusions. For reinforcement bonuses, we recommend a balance of 3x Attack Boost, 1x Affinity Boost, and 1x Sharpness Boost.

Build Playstyle and Combos

The recommended playstyle to maximize the build is as follows:

Always try to initiate with a Sneak Attack to inflict huge damage and equip the Corrupted Mantle immediately.
Start charging your Kinsect: Harvest Extract and fire it directly through the head of the monster to easily obtain all 3 Extract Buffs.
Toggle Focus Mode on, start charging your Descending Slash, and time its release on a monster attack to initiate an Offset.
When in a tight spot, vault into the air to dodge and you can start doing the Midair Helicoptor Combo from here to easily mount and try knocking the monster down.
When mounting, make sure to leave an extra open wound before dismounting so you always have a choice to destroy the wound with Focus Thrust: Leaping Strike to restore all 3 Extract Buffs.
Once the monster is knocked down, you can proceed to dish out all your damage with the Strong Infinite Ground Combo and topping it off with Rising Spiral Slash.

This build focuses on dealing critical hits with Weakness Exploit and Agitator while also boosting your raw attack damage to consistently deal high physical damage for the Insect Glaive. Pair this with max Constitution so you can manage your stamina more efficiently during aerial combos, while also getting Hasten Recovery to help you with healing in tight situations.

To help with your damage output, we have max Critical Boost to increase your critical damage since you will be dealing critical hits most of the time. If you want to maximize your damage further, you can opt for slotting in Airborne instead of Master's Touch as this increases the damage of your Rising Spiral Slash. Antivirus will provide you with more affinity and works well with Coalescence since it activates after recovering from Frenzy to boost whichever element damage or status buildup you picked for this build.

Lastly, your most important set bonus will be Black Eclipse, it allows you to be inflicted with Frenzy without needing to get hit, which will be important for activating your Antivirus and Coalescence skills. Keep in mind that since this is a raw attack build, getting Black Eclipse II is viable as it provides up to +15 attack damage but is not completely required as this is a conditional boost that needs to sacrifice a few affinity skills.

If you want to focus on paralyzing to creating huge openings, the Barine Perche III is a great alternative for this status build as it provides a higher Paralysis status buildup and Kinsect Level but at the cost of lower attack and Critical Status.

Keep in mind that if you want to maximize this build, then Poison is the best way to go as the duration is way longer than Paralysis.

This build focuses on maximizing your poison status buildup with Critical Status and Poison Duration Up in order to boost your damage output using Foray. Pair this up with the Constitution so you can manage your stamina better during aerial combos for the Insect Glaive, while also providing better mounting capabilities with Master Mounter.

For Food Skills, we still recommend using the Black Belt Meal (Lo) buff to help manage your stamina during aerial combos. The rest of your ingredients should focus on Attack and Stamina boosts but can be adjusted to focus on Health if ever things get too difficult.
