Albirath Rook I's Critical Element allows you to deal more Fire damage whenever you crit, while Master's Touch prevents Sharpness loss on critical hits. Additionally, this Gunlance has slightly strong Wide shelling, which can dish out a lot of damage easily.

It is important to note, however, that the combos and playstyles for Wide Shelling is different, so you may need to adjust if you are used to using Normal Shelling.

This build revolves around the synergy between Flayer and Gunlance's ability to quickly create Wounds. Flayer makes it easier for the Gunlance to cover monsters with wounds, which you can then destroy using either Focus Strikes or with normal Gunlance Combos. Additionally, once you deal enough damage, the monster will receive additional damage.

Not only that, but the G. Arkveld armor's Set Bonus skill, Decimator, will heal you whenever you break wounds. The heal is a sizable amount, ensuring that as long as you keep creating and destroying wounds, you will be able to stay in the fight without needing to sheathe your weapon to heal. You will still need to sharpen your Gunlance when needed, however.

Maximum Might provides additional Affinity to the Albirath Rook I, ensuring that you criit more when performing your non-Shelling combos, while Stamina Surge and Constitution both work toward recovering your Stamina fast enough to keep Maximum Might activated.
