Survey the Scarlet Forest
| 1 |  Replenish your potions and other consumables, and take a meal first to refresh the buff duration. Talk to Alma when you're ready to leave and follow her to the Scarlet Forest. ┣ Bring Large Dung Pods ┗ Talk to the Wudwuds |

| 2 |  As Alma instructs the hunter to get to higher ground, climb the vines to view the forest atop of the tree. Here you will find Sassafrill, in which she asks the hunter to take care of the big beaked intruder. |
| 3 |  When the cutscene ends, the hunter will be faced with a trio of Yian Kut-Ku. To successfully complete the Lured by Abundance Assignment Quest, the hunter must capture one of them. |
Bring Large Dung Pods
Since the encounter starts with three Yian Kut-Ku on the field at once, it's highly recommended that you bring Large Dung Pods ahead of time. This will allow you to immediately drive off two of the extra Yian Kut-Ku, allowing you to focus your attention on just one.
Large Dung Pod Location: How to Get and Uses
Talk to the Wudwuds
During your trek through the Scarlet Forest, you can talk to the WudWuds for some additional dialogue. There is no tangible benefit to doing so, but the player may choose to talk to all three to see how they are doing.
Capture the Yian Kut-Ku
| 1 |  Isolate one Yian Kut-Ku from the rest, which will be your target for capture. You can drive off the other Yian Kut-Ku by inflicting enough damage to them or by using Large Dung Pods. ▶︎ Monster Hunt: Yian Kut-Ku |

| 2 |  Start inflicting damage on the Yian Kut-Ku target. Once the target's health is low enough, Alma will provide the hunter with supply Shock traps and Tranq bombs, which can be obtained from your Seikret. ┗ Monitoring Monster Health |
| 3 |  Set the Trap and let the Yian-Kut Ku walk into it, or place it directly underneath it. Once it is immobilized, use two Tranq Bombs to capture it. |
Monitoring Monster Health
During the hunt, the monster's icon will have a flashing skull icon next to it when it takes enough damage, as seen on the map and minimap.
This is when the monster's health is low and it is about to die, and it is a sign to the hunter that the monster is now ready for capture.
Return to the Base Camp
| 1 |  After dealing with the Yian Kut-Ku, the party returns to the base camp to discuss their findings. Finishing the cutscene ends the mission, and the investigation will continue in the next one. |

| Yian Kut-Ku Fight Tips | ||||||||||||||
 Yian Kut-Ku spits fireballs that deal moderate damage. Do not underestimate this attack, as the damage from the Fireblight status it inflicts can knock out the hunter. Some of it's attacks deal consecutive hits, such as it's running attack and it's beak attacks. These attacks must be repeatedly blocked or dodged if you're within its range. Sonic Bombs can be used to interrupt the Yian Kut-Ku's actions, but be careful when using them, as it will become enraged once it recovers. |

Unlocks High Rank Environments
High Rank Hunts can now be accessed after completing the mission. High Rank Hunts provide rare crafting materials needed to create High Rank armor.
Nameplate Rewards
You will receive the Classic Looks: Brown nameplate upon completion of this mission.
Hunter Profile Features Explained
Unlocks Field Survey Quets
Monsters on the map can now be made targets for Field Surveys. Field Surveys provide bonus rewards on top of the target rewards to make them worthwhile.
Unlocks Investigation Quests
Monsters currently in the area can now be targeted for Investigation for a set amount of guild points. Investigations are repeatable, allowing the hunter to hunt the same monster thrice if the need arises.
How to Unlock New Ecosystems
Unlocked After Completing A Visitor From the West Quest
This quest is unlocked after talking to Olivia in the quest A Visitor from the West in Chapter 4.
