There are new monsters shown in several of the Monster Hunter Wilds trailers. In the Open Beta Test, you have the opportunity to hunt the Doshaguma.
Use the Hook Slinger to gather items from a distance. You can also use it while on the Seikret mount to pick up items.
You can use the Hook Slinger to make boulders fall from the field. If the falling boulders hit a monster, it will deal damage and knock it down.
You can use the Hook Slinger to move around faster and climb high places.
You can use the Seikret mount to travel around the field and can automatically take you to a monster's location. They function the same way as the Palamute from Monster Hunter Rise.
Weather and environment can change rapidly during battles. These include sandstorms and lightning storms in desert areas.
Monster Hunter Wilds introduces a Wound system where attacking a monster's wounds deals more damage.
You can go into battle equipped with two weapons. In addition, you can also switch weapons while riding the Seikret mount during battle.

Monster Hunter Wilds introduces a new combat system called Focus Mode. When activating Focus Mode, your attacks and guards are performed in the direction directly in front of the camera and you can see a monster's wounds and weakpoints.
When using Focus Mode, you can see the monster's weakpoint highlighted with a red glow at their body parts. You can also use a special follow-up attack to inflict damage when targeting the weakpoint using Focus Mode.
How to Use Focus Mode and Focus Strike
When performing a perfect guard against a certain monster attacks, your hunter and monster will enter a Power Clash. If your hunter succeeds in pushing back, the monster will lose its balance, giving you a chance to counterattacck.
Certain weapon types allow you to counterattack a monster's attack when timed correctly. This allows you to knock the monster away and launch a powerful follow-up attack.

Monster Hunter Wilds uses a new multiplayer co-op system called Support Hunters. Send out a SOS Flare to join forces with Support Hunters.
In Monster Hunter Wilds, the open field and bases are seamlessly connected. You can move between maps without going to a loading screen.
In Monster Hunter Wilds, you can receive quests by attacking monsters on the map. The seamless map and the ability to receive quests right away make it possible to hunt multiple monsters in succession.
It is likely that it is still possible to receive quests and depart from your base as before.
You can place your tent anywhere in Monster Hunter Wilds. It is likely that the tent can be destroyed when placed near a dangerous monster.
In previous Monster Hunter games, dropped items will disappear after a certain period of time.
In this game, the dropped items mechanic has been removed and items will be moved automatically to your pouch.
Your companions have voices and speak in human language in Monster Hunter Wilds. However, you still revert to the familiar meowing sounds in previous games by toggling it in the settings menu!
The monsters in Monster Hunter Wilds move as a group, with the alpha monster as the main target of the hunt. This will require you change your tactics and approach against these monsters!
The minimap is now three dimensional, making it easier to see the difference in elevation of the terrain.
You can pick up barrel bombs and throw them at monsters. This makes bombing monsters during their sleep a lot easier!
In Monster Hunter Wilds, the hunter player character is fully voiced. You may hear your character's voiceline during the main story and even on hunts.
