How to Unlock Planetes Protocol (Savage)

Clear Omega Planetes from the Extra Mission

Clear Invader from the Stars

To unlock the Planetes Protocol (Savage) quest, you need to defeat Omega Planetes in the extra mission first.

From the Quest Counter, select the Event Quests Tab and choose Planetes Protocol (Savage) to accept this quest. You can do this by speaking to Alma or opening the Quest Counter from the Tent.

Omega Planetes is available to hunt in the Planetes Protocol (Savage) event quest! It is a permanent quest that was released on September 28, 2025, and can be accessed at any time.

To proceed with the Planetes Protocol (Savage) quest, you'll need to be at least HR 100 to join the said event quest.

Planetes Protocol (Savage) Differences

Has Higher Stats Than Regular Omega Planetes

Similar to monsters with Tempered, Omega Planetes (Savage) has higher stats than its regular counterpart. That means that it deals more damage and has higher HP.

As such, it is important to account for this when preparing to take it on.

Uses All of Its Attacks From the Start

Unlike the regular Omega Planetes that slowly uses more attacks as the fight goes on, Omega Planetes (Savage) has access to most of its arsenal of attacks from the start. That means it will use attacks like the Starboard/Larboard Wave Cannon or the multi-target Rocket Punch from the start.

Has an Additional Ice Attack

As this version of Omega Planetes was able to complete its analysis of Jin Dahaad, it has access to an ice attack that can apply Frostblight. Extra care is needed, as getting hit by Frostblight makes you unable to move and vulnerable to attacks.

Play With A Pre-Made Group

Although playing with random players or Support Hunters is possible, it is not recommended as fighting Omega Planetes (Savage) requires proper communication and planning.

As such, it is recommended to team up with friends when fighting Omega Planetes (Savage). If you do decide to play with other players, make sure to strategize before the fight to make things smoother.

Have Two Tank Players

It is advisable to have two players capable of being a Tank when fighting Omega Planetes (Savage). This is thanks to the HP Penalty that Omega Planetes (Savage) can apply during fights. Receiving multiple stacks of the debuff can lower your HP enough that any attack can knock you out in one hit.

As the debuff eventually wears off when the player does not have Enmity, having a second tank (Off Tank) who can take Enmity from the primary tank (Main Tank) in a Tank Swap is important. Once the HP Penalty wears off from the Main Tank, they can take Enmity again, with the Off Tank going back to primarily dealing damage.

Upgrade Your Armor To The Cap

Thanks to Omega Planetes (Savage)'s increased damage, upgrading your armor to the cap is important to maximize your defense against its attacks. As the Event Quest Wreaking Havoc in Wyveria is now permanent, it is now possible to farm Hard Armor Spheres for armor upgrades.

Fire Resistance Is A Must

The Fireblight that Omega Planetes (Savage) can apply with its Flamethrower attacks can make it difficult to stay alive, as you will constantly be taking damage until it is removed. As such, increasing your Fire Resistance to 20 is ideal, as it makes you immune to Fireblight.

You can increase your Fire Resistance by either equipping armor pieces with high Fire Resistance or slotting in the Fire Resistance skill using Decorations.

What Does Elemental Resistance Do?

Equip Multiple Defensive Skills

Equipping multiple defensive skills is recommended, as surviving Omega Planetes (Savage)'s attacks is of utmost importance. Skills like Divine Blessing or Guts (Tenacity) can help you survive Omega Planetes (Savage)'s powerful attacks.

Bring Cleansers To Counter Ice Attack

As the Frostblight from Omega Planetes (Savage)'s Ice attacks can potentially kill you if combined with its other attacks, bringing Cleansers is a must so you can easily escape.

Tips From Regular Version Still Apply

Most of the tips that can help beat the regular Omega Planetes still apply when fighting its Savage version. If you are not yet confident that you can take the Savage version on, practice with the regular version first until you get a good grasp of its attack patterns.
