What Are Bowgun Mods?

Modifies Your Bowgun's Stats

Bowgun mods are used to modify a bowgun's stats to match your playstyle. Unlike in previous games, however, the Bowgun Mods in Monster Hunter Wilds are more limited.

Instead of equipping mods that can lower recoil or increase reload speed, mods in Wilds mostly revolve around strengthening your Ammo, increasing your ammo capacity, and strengthening your weapon-specific attacks.

Additionally, you can only equip two mods at a time, with each mod slot only able to pick from a small selection of mods.

Used on Both Heavy and Light Bowguns

Both Heavy Bowguns and Light Bowguns can be modified with mods, making them an important part of any loadout.

How to Equip Bowgun Mods

Equip Them Through Gemma

Similar to previous games, you will be able to apply mods to your bowguns by going to the Blacksmith Gemma and selecting the option to Modify your Bowgun

How to Add Bowgun Mods
1
Walk up to Gemma and open the Blacksmith menu.
2
Switch tabs to the Equipment Menu and select Customize Bowgun.
3
Select the Bowgun you want to modify.
4
Select the mods you want to equip on your bowgun. Press Back once you are done equipping mods.

Equip Them Inside Your Camp

How to Add Bowgun Mods
1
Enter your tent. This could be at the locale main camps or your Pop-up Camps.
2
Switch tabs to the Equipment Menu and select Customize Bowgun
3
Select the Bowgun you want to modify.
4
Select the mods you want to equip on your bowgun. Press Back once you are done equipping mods.

Bowguns Have Limited Mod Slots

Bowguns can only equip a maximum of two mods at any rarity. The mods that you can equip will change based on what Bowgun you are using.

Mods Can Be Equipped Multiple Times

If the same mod is available for both mod slots, it is possible to equip two of the same mod and their effects will stack. For example, if you equip the Normal Ammo Magazine twice, it will increase your Normal Ammo Magazine size by 2.
