A lot of the weapons will be locked during the early game. Thankfully you can easily unlock them and their weapon trees by getting their core material! These core materials are usually monster parts but could also be scavengable items as well.
List of All Items and Materials
Successfully hunting a monster, and getting their materials unlocks their own weapons and weapon trees. Once you also obtain their materials from their High Rank version, their High Rank weapons will unlock as well.
Remember that some weapons may require other materials from other monsters, so try hunting other monsters too!
To craft a specific weapon, you will first need to craft the weapon's base form to unlock and craft the upgraded form of it. This means tracing the weapon tree back to its base form, then check if you've upgraded the weapon already.
After crafting the base form, you can continue crafting until you obtain the weapon you need. Beyond this, you will need to progress in-game before unlocking higher and rarer weapons materials.
You will easily and naturally unlock a lot of weapons by progressing through the game! You'll meet and fight new monsters as you uncover the secrets of Monster Hunter Wilds.
