What are Tempered Monsters?

Powerful High Rank Monsters

Powerful High Rank Monsters
Tempered Monsters are powerful versions of monsters that only appear in High Rank and boast higher HP and deal more damage compared to their regular counterparts.

Almost all monsters have Tempered variants and can present a challenging fight to the unprepared hunter.

Monsters Covered in Scars

Tempered Monsters are covered in scars as a result of their higher aggression and propensity to fight other monsters. These appear as grey colored patches on different parts of the body.

Continously attacking these scars will eventually open them up into Tempered Scars which you can then damage with a Focus Strike to deal massive damage to the Tempered Monster!

Appear as Purple Icons in the Map

Purple Icon.png

Tempered Monsters show up on the map after tracking them with scoutflies with a purple icon to differentiate them from regular monsters. This makes them easier to take note of when hunting them down.

What are Arch-Tempered Monsters?

Powerful Variants of Tempered Monsters

Arch-Tempered Monsters are more powerful variants of Tempered monsters to be introduced in Title Update 1, generally in Event and Free Challange Quests in Wilds.

Rewards from Arch-Tempered Monsters are valuable materials that can be used to craft unique Gamma (γ) versions of armor sets which typically have more if not better armor skills, decoration slots, and defense than Alpha (α) and Beta (β) sets.
