Event Quests Schedule and Rewards

Tempered Monsters are powerful versions of monsters that only appear in High Rank and boast higher HP and deal more damage compared to their regular counterparts.
Almost all monsters have Tempered variants and can present a challenging fight to the unprepared hunter.

Tempered Monsters are covered in scars as a result of their higher aggression and propensity to fight other monsters. These appear as grey colored patches on different parts of the body.
Continously attacking these scars will eventually open them up into Tempered Scars which you can then damage with a Focus Strike to deal massive damage to the Tempered Monster!

Tempered Monsters show up on the map after tracking them with scoutflies with a purple icon to differentiate them from regular monsters. This makes them easier to take note of when hunting them down.

Arch-Tempered Monsters are more powerful variants of Tempered monsters to be introduced in Title Update 1, generally in Event and Free Challange Quests in Wilds.
Rewards from Arch-Tempered Monsters are valuable materials that can be used to craft unique Gamma (γ) versions of armor sets which typically have more if not better armor skills, decoration slots, and defense than Alpha (α) and Beta (β) sets.

Tempered Monsters first appear in the High Rank mission Wyvern Sparks and Rose Thorns where an investigation on unusual phenomena leads to a fight with a Tempered Lala Barina!
Wyvern Sparks and Rose Thorns Mission Walkthrough

You can track Tempered Monsters across the world by following purple Scoutflies which will lead you to their respective monster tracks.
Once successfuly tracked, Tempered Monsters will appear on the map with a purple icon making them easier to follow.

Tempered Monsters have discolored scars and patches on their bodies that serve as weakpoints that you can break to deal increased damage and eventually open them into Tempered Wounds.

Use Focus Mode to highlight Tempered Scars which will glow purple. Prioritize attacking and destroying these scars with a Focus Strike to deal increased damage to the Tempered Monsters and stun them out of their attacks!
How to Use Focus Mode and Focus Strike

Breaking a Tempered Wound will cause monsters to drop remains that you can pick up to obtain slinger ammo such as Heavy Piercing Pods which you can use against the Tempered Monster you're fighting against!
