Camps are facilities you can fast travel to and enter to manage items, change equipment, and more. Towns are special as they contain several more NPCs where you can buy items or upgrade gear.

Pop-up camps are mobile camps you can build around the locale with a maximum of four at a time. These camps, if spotted by an agitated monster can be destroyed. The safer the location is, the less likely this is to happen.

The Oilwell Basin features vast oil deposits and ancient machinery that are used by the Azuz people in The Everforge. Using the Everforge causes the Firespring inclemency which causes the whole location to burn to unbearable temperatures!

How to Unlock the Oilwell Basin

Complete Chapter 2-1

Completing all missions in Chapter 1 and starting “Toward Fervent Fields” in Chapter 2 grants your Hunter access into the Oilwell Basin. You will have to make your way directly to Azuz, the Everforge when you first enter this area.

Oilwell Basin Farming Routes

Ore and Bone Route

There are 14 Mining Outcrops and 6 Bonepiles in the Scarlet Forest. Follow these steps to efficiently collect all of these spots:

1. Start at the Dilapidated Roadways Pop-Up Camp and mine the outcrops in Area 6. You can then collect the rest of the nodes in this layer starting from Area 4 to Area 7.
2. Fast Travel to the Limestone Cavern Pop-Up Camp and collect all the nodes on your way to Area 17.
3. Fast Travel to the Crimson Rivulet Pop-Up Camp and mine the rest of the outcrops in Area 16 and 14.

Remember to use the Geologist skill to maximize the yield of your farming runs and do them while there are Bonepile or Mining Outcrop Upsurges.

Environmental Traps

Trap	Details
Falling Stalactite	A mineral formation of dripping limestone. Fragile at its base, a strong impact will cause the bulk of it to fall.
Lava Vent	A dangerous place that spouts lava. Erupts more frequently at certain times.

Sporepuff	A plant laden with spores. Strike it to release a dense cloud that can be used to hide a hunter from sight.
Lump of Blastcoal	A large formation of highly flammable stone. Hold it aloft to spark an internal combustion reaction, roll it, then strike it for an explosion.
The Ancient Forge	A giant machine left in the Oilwell Basin. Pulling the upper lever with a Hook Slinger will trigger large pistons to thrust out from either side.
