Add to Watchlist

Waterblight is a Status Ailment in Monster Hunter Wilds that decreases Stamina recovery speed. See an explanation for the Waterblight Status Ailment, as well as how to inflict Waterblight on monsters in this guide!

Waterblight Status Ailment Explained

Decreases Stamina Recovery Speed

When the hunter is inflicted with Waterblight, their Stamina recovery speed will be decreased.

If you do get hit with Waterblight, consume a Nulberry to get rid of it quickly before heading back to the fight.

List of Status Effects

How to Remove Waterblight

Cure Waterblight by Using Nulberries

Nulberry Nulberry
Type Hunting Item Rarity 2
Sell Price 120 Hold Limit 10
Description
A mysterious berry that cures various blights.

To cure Waterblight, hunters simply need to use a Nulberry.

If you don't have Nulberries, you need to wait until the water droplet icon disappears from your hunter's status before your stamina recovers normally again.

Nulberry Location: How to Get and Uses

Recover Stamina Gauge with Items

Aside from consuming Nulberries, it is also advisable to consume Energy Drinks, Rations, or Well-Done Steaks to regain depleted stamina and even boost it!

How to Restore and Increase Stamina

Status Ailments Wear Off After 60 Seconds

Status ailments like Waterblight will wear off naturally over time, but it's better to get rid of it immediately since attacking, dodging, and sprinting consume a lot of stamina.

Reduce its Duration by 3 Seconds Per Roll

You can reduce the total duration of Waterblight by 3 seconds per dodge roll. However, remember that Waterblight reduces stamina recovery so be sure to always watch your stamina bar when trying to remove the blight via this method.

Reduce its Duration by 2 Seconds per Sidestep

You can also use sidesteps if your weapon permits to reduce the blight's effectiveness by 2 seconds per use.

Can be Removed Using Purewasps

Purewasps have the same effect as a Nulberry when interacted with so don't hesitate to poke at a Purewasp when you're in need of blight removal.

Purewasp Location and How to Catch

Purewasps Can be Delivered by Palicoes

Purewasps can also be used as a support move by your Palico. Be attentive to their support actions and they may announce that a Purewasp is on the way if you get afflicted by blights.

How to Resist Waterblight

Have a Water Resist of More Than 20

water res 20
If your current Water Res is higher than 20, you'll be immune to Water Blight. This is effective when fighting against monsters that can dish out fire blight continuously so consider gearing up and increasing your Water Res against these monsters.

Consider Equipping Water Resistance Skill

Water Resistance Icon Water Resistance Increases water resistance. Also improves defense at higher levels.

If you wish to hit the 20 Resistance threshhold for Water Blight immunity, consider equipping some Water Resist skill to push your Water Resistance value to higher numbers.

Water Resistance Skill Effects

Water Resistance Between 10 to 19 Reduces Affliction Rate

water res 10
While not completely immune, having a Water Res between 10 to 19 will reduce the rate of getting afflicted by Water Blight. You'll still get afflicted if you get hit by Waterblight-inflicting attacks so caution is advised.

Blight Resistance Can Nullify Blights

Blight Resistance Icon Blight Resistance Grants protection against all elemental blights.

The Blight Resistance skill can reduce the affliction rate of all blight attacks and can even nullify it at max level. Consider Blight Resistance if you're fighting monsters capable of inflicting these blights on you.

Can You Inflict Waterblight Monsters?

You Cannot Directly Inflict Waterblight

Hunters cannot inflict Blights on monsters, even with Elemental Weapons. Using a Water-Element Weapon does not allow players to inflict the blight of the corresponding element.
