Catch a Gravid Bowfin

| 3 |  After catching a Gravid Bowfin, return to Kanya. She is found in Area 1 of the Scarlet Forest, near the Base Camp Fishing Spot. After delivering the fish she will tell you to keep the fish. |
Where to Catch Gravid Bowfin
Kanya tells you that the Gravid Bowfin can be found almost anywhere, but they are quite rare. However, their numbers increase when the weather is Plenty and the time is around Dawn or Dusk. Note that you can change the weather and time by resting in your tent.
The oasis in Area 13 of the Windward Plains is the recommended fishing spot, as it is easily accessible with a Pop-up Camp to reset the area and respawn the fish.

Use Emerald Jitterbait to Capture Gravid Bowfin
The best bait for catching the Gravid Bowfin is the Emerald Jitterbait, which you can obtain during the Seeking the Goldenfish Side Mission.

Complete Seeking the Goldenfish Side Mission
You can unlock Fishing for Flavor by reaching Chapter 4 and completing the Seeking the Goldenfish side mission from Kanya. You can find this side mission in the lower left section of the Scarlet Forest, in Area 1 near the Base Camp.
