AT Jin Dahaad hits much harder compared to its regular version. Make sure you increase both your Ice Resistance to at least 20 through skills, armor, or meals to reduce the damage taken from its ice attacks. It's also important to improve your defense to above 400 with armor spheres to survive its physical attacks such as its charges and slams.
Several of Jin Dahaad's attacks can cause you to get stuck in place due to Frostblight. This is incredibly dangerous if you get caught as you'll likely cart if you take another of Jin Dahaad's attacks while stuck. Bring Cleansers to break free or add the skill Bind Resistance. Level 3 completely prevents it, but Level 2 can be used if you want to take advantage of Binding Counter.
Arch-Tempered Jin Dahaad is mainly weak to the Fire element. Its head, legs, tail, and exposed iceplate are all viable parts to hit. Like the original fight, destroying some of its parts will cause it to topple over and draw enmity for a while.
Using the terrain is important to get some additional damage and to temporarily stagger AT Jin Dahaad.

There are two Brittle Ice Pillars in the 2nd area that you can use during your hunt. Position Jin Dahaad carefully underneath the pillars and use your Slinger to pull down the boulder and knock it off its feet.
Like in the original fight, be sure to lure it to the Crumbling Ice Wall in the 3rd phase to deal a significant amount of damage to the monster.
These ice boulders can be dropped on Jin Dahaad for some extra damage in the 3rd and final areas. However, it's best to save at least one per area as it can do its AOE ultimate attack several times. Not having a free Ice Chunk could mean a party wipe.
AT Jin Dahaad is largely similar to its regular version, but it does have some new moves. One is a wide-sweeping ice beam that covers a large range around it. It begins this attack by raising its head and then blasting ice over a wide area. Try to get as close as possible to its hind legs to avoid this. It's also best to avoid its face when it does ice breath attacks as it can follow up with a powerful ice beam right in front of it.
| Arch-Tempered Jin Dahaad has the same weaknesses as a regular Jin Dahaad. |
