The Cold Path to Oblivion has now ended. The quest ran from January 6 (ET) until January 20, 2026 (ET). This quest rewarded players exclusive pendants depending on the player's time performance.

Use Fire Gogma Artian Weapons
Arch-tempered Jin Dahaad is primarily weak to Fire. The recommended weapons to use are Fire-element Gogma Artian Weapons.
Equip Bind Resistance Level 3
Make sure to include Bind Resistance Level 3 in your build to prevent being frozen by Jin Dahaad. Being frozen wastes valuable time that could be spent dealing damage and may even result in a cart.
Break All Four Iceplates
The general game plan is to break all of the iceplates on Jin Dahaad's back to suppress its ice attacks, making the fight more manageable. To make the upper back iceplate vulnerable, you'll need to break the tail, lower back, and head iceplates first.
You'll get a generous window to attack the iceplates when Jin Dahaad topples over from breaking wounds on its legs and from environmental traps.
Use Environmental Traps
Be mindful of the environmental traps in the area. Use them to deal heavy damage and topple Jin Dahaad.
Lay Shock Traps Below Environmental Traps
If you struggle with timing the environmental traps, place Shock Traps directly beneath them to ensure they connect. Keep in mind that Jin Dahaad cannot be captured, even if Shock Traps work against it.
Hide Behind Ice Chunks When It Uses Frost Nova
Take cover behind ice chunks that you've pulled down when Jin Dahaad uses its frost nova attack. If there aren't any, you can fast travel to camp to avoid it (not recommended as it wastes valuable time).
This attack can instantly cart you, and the entire animation is lethal, so wait until it has fully finished. Gogmazios’s special attack, by contrast, is safe after the initial explosion.
Pull the Frozen Pillar When It Climbs Up
When Jin Dahaad climbs one of the giant frozen pillars, pull it down after the fourth breath attack. Simply dodge the first three breath attacks while waiting for the fourth.
Support Hunters Viable for Solo
Even if you prefer solo play, A-rank with support hunters is still possible if you play efficiently and avoid mistakes.
