| How to Immobilize Guardian Ebony Odogaron |

|
|
Guardian Ebony Odogaron is an agile monster who combos its attacks very quickly. This leaves hunters with barely any chance to deal consistent damage. This is why it's recommended to immobilize Guardian Ebony as much as you can.
You can utilize the traps present in the environment, such as Entangled Rocks on the ceiling, Vine Traps on trees, or paralyzing Great Thunderbugs. You could also bring your own Shock Traps or Pitfall Traps. Breaking wounds and using Offset Attacks also stops the monster in its tracks.
Flinching Guardian Ebony Odogaron over floors made of roots can actually entrap it within the roots. Stagger it into the floor with powerful attacks or by breaking its wounds.
Some energy attacks cause Wylk Crystals to spawn from the ground. Hitting these crystals with elemental slinger ammo causes them to explode with the element of the ammo, dealing damage to anyone nearby. These explosions not only deal good damage to Guardian Ebony Odogaron, but can also topple it.
Guardian Ebony Odogaron has two Weak Points: its forelegs and tail. The one on its forelegs can appear right after it does its Claw Smash attack. When its forelegs glow red in Focus Mode, use Focus Strike on them to stagger or even topple Guardian Ebony.
How to Use Focus Mode and Focus Strike
The Weak Point on Guardian Ebony Odogaron's tail is quite tricky to get. It shows up very briefly in Focus Mode before and after its Tail Spin attack. When you get the chance, use Focus Strike on its tail to stagger Guardian Ebony.
After a certain amount of attacks, Guardian Ebony Odogaron can inflict Bleeding on you, which takes away your health with every stamina-consuming action. Several items can actually cure this ailment, but the most effective one is Wild Jerky. It instantly cures Bleeding, increases health recovery, it's easy to get, and it's fast to consume.
Guardian Ebony Odogaron can inflict Dragonblight on you, preventing you from doing elemental damage or any status ailment build up to the monster. If you don't have high Dragon Resistance or Blight Resistance, remember that Nulberries cures the blight. Make sure to stock up on them before the hunt!
Moves labeled with a sword icon indicate that you can counter them with an Offset Attack.
