Hit a Purewasp

Purewasps can also help cure status effects when hit. It not only cures the user but also everyone within range.

Purewasps only spawn in a few select locales, such as the Oilwell Basin, so make sure to keep an eye out while hunting.

Purewasp Location and How to Get

Your Palico Can Use Purewasp Delivery

Alternatively, your Palico can also perform the Support Move Purewasp Delivery to bring a Purewasp to you and clear your debuff. Take note that this has a cooldown, so you cannot clear your debuffs consecutively this way.

Dodge Incoming Attacks to Buy Time

If a monster attacks you continuously, avoiding it not only prevents damage but also keeps you from getting status effects. If you've run out of consumables, this might be the only way to avoid status effects during combat.

List of Items and Materials

Dodging can Cure Some Blights

Some Blights, such as Blastblight and Fireblight can be removed by rolling three times. This is the fastest way to cure these Blights, and can help put distance between you and your opponent.

Cure Fireblight with Water

Alternatively if you're facing a monster that applies Fireblight, such as Quematrice, you can quickly shake it off by heading into any body of water.

Equip Blight Resistance Skill

Armor Skills

Equipping armors with the Blight Resistance skill can reduce the duration of, or even prevent status conditions. You can obtain these by forging certain armor, equipping talismans and decorations, and cooking meals.

What are Status Effects?

Buffs and Debuffs

Dragonblight Attack

Status Effects, in their entirety, are obtainable or afflicted conditions that either help or detriment the Hunter and Monster. Status Effects are separated into two categories: Boosts and Ailments!

Status Boosts Grant Buffs

Defense Food Buff

Status Boosts are buffs that improve their efficacy during hunts, where an example such as Attack Up (S) is almost mandatory for hunts. To reliably get myriads of Status Boosts during your hunts, you can either stock up on consumables or party up with someone who uses the Hunting Horn!

Status Ailments Inflict Debuffs

Dragonblight

Status Ailments are debuffs that hinder in any shape or form. While mostly an affliction to Hunters, they too can utilize status effects in hunts by crafting weapons from the very monsters that can inflict them or using Throwing Knives or Specialized Meat.
