Does Monster Hunter Wilds Have Crossplay

Monster Hunter Wilds does not support cross-progression but has crossplay hunts for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Check out our guide to learn more about the game's crossplay, cross-platform, cross-save, and cross-progression features!

How to Activate Crossplay

Enable in Settings

Multiplayer

1 Enable Crossplay Settings
2 Change Quest Settings to “All Platforms”
3 Check Your Hunter ID
4 Form a Link Party
5 Enter Your Friend's ID
6 Invite to Environment Link
7 Proceed with Hunting

Enable the Crossplay Setting

The first and most important setting you'll need to update is the crossplay setting. Go to the main menu and the menu options. Choose the Crossplay feature and make sure that the Crossplay setting is set to enabled.

Change Quest Settings to All Platforms

When posting a multiplayer quest, ensure that the quest setting is always set to all platforms. Even with the Crossplay setting enabled, you won't be able to play with other players if this is not set to other platforms as well.

Check Your Hunter ID

Hunter Profile ID

Before starting multiplayer, be sure to know your Hunter ID. This will be the ID you'll need to share with other players if you want to join them via your Hunter ID. You'll share this with them so they can add you to parties or as friends.

How to Check Your Hunter ID

Form a Link Party

Invite to Link Party.png

You'll then want to invite other players to your Link Party. This will put you and that hunter in one group which can allow you to form a group with hunters that are in different lobbies.

Enter Your Friend's Hunter ID

To invite them, you'll need their Hunter ID. Input their Hunter ID to your invite to add them to your party.

Invite to Environment Link

Environment link.png

Next, you'll want to invite them to your own world's environment. To do that, you'll need to invite them to your Environment Link. This will bring the hunter to your world's instance which can allow you and those players to move around your world.

Proceed with Hunting

Now that you and that hunter are in the Link Party and also shares an Environment Link, you'll now both be able to participate in hunts in your environment as well as participate in quests together.

Does Monster Hunter Wilds Support Cross-Progression?

Cross-Progression and Cross-Save Not Supported

While the game does support crossplay, cross-saving between platforms is not supported. This means you can't share save data between the PS5 and Steam as an example, so cross-progression is also not available.

The reason behind this is because the game's save data and DLC purchased will be managed separately by platform, so it will not be possible to link save files from one platform to another.

PS5, Xbox, and PC

MH Wilds Platforms

Monster Hunter Wilds supports crossplay between PC and consoles. Players from one platform will be able to hunt with other players from a different platform, whether if they are on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, or PC.

This feature is not available in the previous titles, which is a nice addition as you can now hunt with your friends regardless if they are on PC or console!

Available Platforms Not Available On
✔︎ PlayStation 5
✔︎ Xbox Series X|S
✔︎ Windows PC (Steam)
✖︎ PlayStation 4

Do You Need a Subscription to Use Crossplay?

Playstation and Xbox Requires Online Subscription to Play

While PC players can play the game online with only their game copies, Playstation and XBox users will need to have their respective online subscriptions for their platforms to play the game online. Namely a Playstation Sub for the Playstation 5 and the Xbox Game Pass for the Xbox platform.
