There is no PVP in Monster Hunter: Wilds. Find out more details about PVP in Monster Hunter: Wilds in this guide!
List of Contents

There is no PVP planned for the release of Monster Hunter: Wilds. When in a multiplayer session, players can only do damage to monsters, and not other hunters.
Note that in multiplayer hunts, your attacks can affect allies. Hitting them can cause them to flinch, which interrupts their actions; this can also happen to you if you are hit by an ally attack.
Multiplayer Guide: How to Play Co-Op
On the flipside, developers have noted that flinching caused by ally attacks will be reduced. This will make multiplayer easier to navigate, but it is currently uncertain what ally flinching will be like in the full release.
How to Prevent Flinching in Multiplayer
The main way players compete in Monster Hunter is through clear times or speedruns, which refers to how fast a they can take down a specific monster. Players use various strategies to achieve the quickest clear time.

PVP stands for player versus player, a form of gameplay that involves two different players fighting in-game. As Monster Hunter is a player versus enemy (PVE) game, there is no PVP aspect in Wilds.
The enemy aspect of PVE in Monster Hunter is represented by the titular monsters, and players must work together, or take them on alone to progress through the game.
