Frenzied Monsters are the result of monsters being inflicted by the Frenzy Virus caused by Gore Magala.
To know if you got Frenzied, a purple gauge will appear on top of your health bar, indicating that you are inflicted with it.
Make sure to keep attacking before the Frenzy gauge fills up to overcome it. Alternatively, you can also use Nulberries but take note that this will not stop the frenzy gauge from filling up and only reduces it.
The Frenzy abnormal status doubles damage taken and prevents you to heal naturally during fights, so get rid of it immediately by consuming a nulberry.
Once Frenzy is cured, the Hunters will receive 15 Affinity for 1 minute. The Affinity boost can be further increased if you have Antivirus from Gore Armor Pieces or Sane Jewel Decorations.
| Skill | Effect |
|---|---|
| Black Eclipse I | Infects you with Frenzy when against large monsters. |
| Black Eclipse II | Infects you with Frenzy and raises attack when against large monsters. Attack power increases upon recovery. |
The Black Eclipse skill from the Gore Magala's Tyranny Set Bonus automatically inflicts Frenzy Status when fighting against a large monster. This allows you to actively receive the Affinity bonus and proc Antivirus against monsters with no Frenzied variants such as Arkveld or Zoh Shia.
Additionally, the Level 2 Black Eclipse provides an additional 10 raw attack when you get the Frenzy, and 5 raw attack upon cleansing it.

In times where you're afflicted with Frenzy but don't have a Nulberry and your Palico is down, the last resort would be to overcome the abnormal status by agressively attacking the enemy!

When an encounter with a frenzied enemy is too much to handle and you ran out of healing items, either use a Farcaster to instantly teleport you back to camp or mount your seikret and go to a safe area before fast traveling back to base or a pop-up camp.

How much affinity is gained from curing Frenzy? I know it's 10% more with Antivirus, but not Frenzy itself.

Frenzy itself will give 15%, so with Antivirus Lvl 3 you would get 15% + 10% = 25%
