Complete Field Survey Quests and earn more monster parts in Monster Hunter Wilds. Learn how to unlock Survey Quests, their rewards, and more in this guide.

Field Survey Quests are open-world, quests that can be triggered based on the current monsters actively roaming the map. Their availability depends solely on which monster is on the map at any given time.
The difficulty varies, and higher starred monsters would be harder to fight, but bring more rewards. If the hunter wants to hunt the monster at a later time, they can turn the Field Survey quest into an Investigation, provided they have the necessary guild points.

Open the map and select an available monster that is currently on the map. Select the monster's icon and choose Field Survey from the submenu to begin the Field Survey.
Alternatively, a Field Survey Quest can be initiated by attacking a monster in the field, provided the hunter does not fall under one of the field survey quest restrictions.
Field Survey Quests can not be initiated if the hunter falls under the following conditions:
If a particular monster cannot be targeted by a Field Survey, it will be shown in the environment overview of the detailed map.
Attacking monsters and doing enough damage to them would automatically trigger a Field Survey Quest, so keep this in mind if you do not want to participate in a Field Survey Quest.

After defeating Zoh Shia , the Hunter will be asked to capture a high rank Yian Kut-Ku in Chapter 4, Ecosystems, which serves as an introductory quest to the high rank difficulty in Monster Hunter Wilds.
Complete the mission and capture the high-ranking Yian Kut-Ku to unlock Field Survey quests.

| HR 31 to 40 | Tier 2 Tempered Monsters |
| HR 41 onwards | Tier 3 Tempered Monsters |
After unlocking high rank Field Surveys and Investigations, a number of monsters will be unlocked for you to hunt initially. Continue progressing through the game to increase your HR, in order to unlock more monsters as Field Survey Quest targets.
Hunter Rank Farm Guide and Unlocks

Great Hunts are a type of Field Survey Quest with multiple designated targets. In Great Hunts, you must defeat two targets within the time limit instead of one, requiring swift action to complete the quest successfully.
| Region | Side Mission |
|---|---|
| Continuing Conflict | |
| Fur Damagings Are Dislikeworthy | |
| Echoing from the Cliffs | |
| Troublemakers | |
| The Struggle to Survive |
Each region has a side mission that must be completed in order to unlock Great Hunts for that region. Each of these side missions require you to hunt two targets within the time limit to complete the mission condition.
List of Side Missions (Side Quests)

Completing field surveys would reward the hunter with bonus rewards in addition to the target rewards.
Field surveys are a great way to farm monster parts, and the hunter can choose to do them if they want to earn bonus rewards while farming.

Spending Lucky Vouchers adds additional randomly selected rewards, as well as extra zennies. It's scarcity speaks to it's value, as it greatly increases the rewards offered.
It can be used from the map menu before starting a Field Survey, or by pressing the button that appears when the hunter attacks a Field Survey monster.
