How to Beat Brute Wyverns

Brute Wyvern Fight Tips

Cut Their Tails to Shorten Their Attack Range

All Brute Wyverns in the game, including Guardian Fulgur Anjanath, use powerful tail swipes that deal high damage and can knock hunters of their feet. Notably, Quematrice's tail swipes can ignite surroundings and inflict Fireblight as well!

When hunting these powerful monsters, we recommend focusing on cutting their tails first. This shortens the range of their tail swipes, often making them ineffective, and makes their back a safe spot when fighting them!

Stun Them With Blunt Damage to the Head

While Brute Wyverns are susceptible to all types of damage, their easy-to-reach heads means that they are relatively easy to stun with weapons that deal Blunt Damage such as Hammers and Hunting Horns.

When wielding these weapons, focus on battering their heads to stun them and knock them down the ground!

What are Brute Wyverns?

Flightless Theropod-like Monsters

Brute Wyverns are monsters modeled after real-life theropods, an extinct clade of Dinosaurs with famous members such as Tyrannosaurus Rex.

Like their real-life counterparts, Brute Wyverns are stocky and flightless, and often possess powerful jaws and large tails to compensate for their relatively short arms.
