Catch A Goldenfish

1 Monster Hunter Wilds - Talk to Kanya
Talk to Kanya at the Plains Base Camp and she will ask you to catch a Goldenfish.

2 Monster Hunter Wilds - Catch A Goldenfish
Equip the Golden Bughead Lure and head for the dark fishing spots that Goldenfish prefer.

3 Monster Hunter Wilds - Return to Kanya
Return to Kanya after successfully catching a Goldenfish. She is found in Area 1 of the Scarlet Forest, near the Base Camp Fishing Spot. Kanya will inform the Hunter that Goldenfish fetches a high price at the Provisioner.

Kanya will inform you that Goldenfish prefer dark areas away from the sun. The caves on the north side of Area 8 and Area 12 in the Scarlet Forest are good places to try and catch a Goldenfish, as these locations are in enclosed dark caverns which have a higher chance of spawning Goldenfish.

Goldenfish - Fishing Side Mission

The best bait for catching the Goldenfish is the Golden Bughead, which you can obtain at the start of this mission. You can change bait by scrolling through your item bar and selecting the Golden Bughead.

You can unlock Seeking the Golden Fish by completing the Fishing: Life, in Microcosm side mission.

After completing the main story mission New Ecosystems in Chapter 4, you can now continue the Fishing side mission quest line by talking to Kanya.

You can find Kanya on the lower left section of the Scarlet Forest, in Area 1 near the Base Camp.
