The Albirath Feroce I from Guardian Rathalos is the best Hunting Horn in the Low Rank section, having 15% base affinity, and high raw and fire elment damage. It also has a great set of songs ranging from Attack Up to Resounding Melody, and has Critical Element and Master's Touch skills.

It also has an amazing support effect for its Echo Bubble: Stamina Regeneration. If you have fellow hunters who use weapons that consume a lot of stamina such Dual Blades or Bow, then this is a great support move to have!

Decorations are randomly obtained, so feel free to adjust with what is available.

For this build, go for 2 pieces of Guardian Ebony for bonuses to the Burst Skill, 2 pieces of Guardian Arkveld for Flayer and Decimator, and 1 piece of Guardian Rathalos for Weakness Exploit.

For decorations, opt for a Critical Jewel if available, or other any damage-boosting decoration. For armor decorations, having a Protection Jewel for some Divine Blessing is good, then other decos such as Adapt Jewel and Physique for comfort.

This is a balanced set for a Hunting Horn playstyle of multi-hits with the Echo Bubble and Resounding Melody, and for getting the most damage out of using its Focus Strike.

Wylk Burst

At this stage of Low Rank, you will have a lot of offensive skills thanks to the armor pieces offered by Guardian monsters. You'll want to focus on having Flayer, Burst, and the respective set bonuses Burst Boost and Decimator in your kit.

Burst skills are recommended since the Hunting Horn has multi-hit attacks through Echo Bubble (with Resounding Melody as a bonus). For some comfort and also added damage for your Focus Strike, we went with wound-related skills being Flayer, Decimator, and Weakness Exploit.

Since this build will allow you to do critical hits, having Master's Touch is a nice addition for saving sharpness. The rest of the comfort skills such as Wylk Burst, Blight Resistance, and Adaptability are a bonus.

The Ajara Reverberator I is the choice Hunting Horn from Ajarakan in this build. It has base 10% affinity. It provides Blast Damage on top of its already satisfactory raw attack, and has a good number of utility melodies such as Attack Up (S), Earplugs (S), and Offset Melody.

It also has some use for comfort since its Echo Bubble provides an increase to Evasion and Movement Speed to you and allies within it!

Rey Perun I is a choice support alternative if you're playing in groups for its Health Regeneration Echo Bubble. Else, it functions a bit similarly to the Ajara Reverberator, having just a bit higher raw damage. However, it lack a base crit chance.

This build makes use of Evade Window as its primary defensive as it grants valuable I-frames to your dodges with Hunting Horn. Constitution, in turn, will supplement this by letting you consume less stamina on dodges.

For damage options, it has a combination of Latent Power for a sustained 10% affinity increase the longer you fight and Thunderous Roar to lengthen Latent Power's duration. Slugger comes in as a useful skill for further increasing the Hunting Horn's high knockdown potential.

Bone Horn II is your best option for a Hunting Horn early on the game due to its high attack value and its array of songs. It already comes with the skills Stamina Thief for increasing monster exhaustion on hit, and Attack Boost for boosting overall damage.

The Dosha Farsounder I is a good alternative choice if you want to aim for a Hunting Horn with an Offset Attack through Offset Melody. It, however, has -5% affinity base affinity, so you're going to be seeing some strong hits that will suddenly lack power, especially since the Hunting Horn is not exactly a fast weapon.

It's Echo Bubble also provides Stamina Regenaration, making it a great weapon to help out your fellow stamina-hungry hunters.

For the armor set, 2 pieces of Doshaguma armor were used for some utility with Free Meal, and 3 pieces of Balahara were used to maximize Evade Extender. There aren't a lot of options yet for increasing damage during this time, so we opted first for comfort skills.

Skill Summary

Master Mounter I Powerhouse I

For this build, you will have Evade Extender 3 for comfort. Evade Extener increases the distance of your dodges, making it easier to get away from attacks and reposition around monsters. Free Meal is also present to gives you chance for some free item consumption — useful this early on as you learn to farm and craft ingredients.

For offensive skills, you will have Attack Boost 1 which will straight up increase your raw damage, then Stamina Thief to make it easier for monsters to get exhausted when you hit them with your hunting horn. Master Mounter will make it even easier for you to mount monsters, and mounting has large benefits: easy wounding and knockdowns.

Powerhouse serves as an additional option should you make use of an Offset Melody on another horn.
