Immortal Build

The Immortal Build consists of High Rank armor sets that prioritize survivability in Monster Hunter Wilds (MH Wilds). Read on to learn what armor pieces make up the build, along with its featured skills!

Immortal Build Best Weapons

This build can work on any weapons since the prominent skills that are needed to make this build work is found on the armor sets. However, we still recommend two of the best weapons that complement the Immortal Build:

Titan's Armament Sword and Shield

Titan's Armament complements the build's purpose as it provides the player a level 3 Guard Up skill along with an additional defense of +30. Coupled with Guard level 3 from the Ironwall Jewel decoration, this build will allow you to block against unblockable attacks with reduced damage and impact taken.

Additionally, Sword and Shield allows item usage even when the sword is unsheathed. Item usage will be a core part of this build as Speed Eating is maxed out, making it faster to consume items. For a better understanding of the Sword and Shield's moveset, visit our Sword & Shield Weapon Guide and Best Combos.

Guard Up Lv. 3

The Gravios Lance is chosen for its innate Guard Up skill at max along with its additional +30 defense, very much similar to Titan's Armament. While the player may lose mobility and item usage when using Lance, the positive trade-off is that the Lance's bigger shield provides better defense. Ultimaltey, the player can decide on which weapon to use. To better understand Lance and its moveset, visit our Lance Weapon Guide and Best Combos.

Skill Summary

Armor Skills
Defense Boost 6 Divine Blessing 3
Earplugs 3 Recovery Speed 3
Recovery Up 3 Speed Eating 3
Stun Resistance 3 Bleeding Resistance 2
Paralysis Resistance 2 Wide-Range 1

With this build, the player's survivability is the priority. Recovery Up, Recovery Speed, and Speed Eating are all at maxed out in the build. This combination provides near-instantaneous healing by just consuming one mega potion.

Since the player will be using the shield for the majority of the hunt, Divine Blessing and Defensive Boost are slotted in to help mitigate the damage received. Earplugs and Stun Resistance both offer comfort and assistance to avoid sticky situations.

Bleeding Resistance, Paralysis Resistance, and Wide-Range are all welcome additions which are incidental to the armor that the build features.

Best Mantle

Mantle Effect
Rocksteady MantleRocksteady Mantle • The Rocksteady Mantle reduces the damage taken by the player, adding more defense on top of what the build offers.
• Using this mantle can help the player to either throw out more attacks and go on the offensive, or help them prepare for a big monster attack.

Best Secondary Weapons

Weapon & Type Explanation

(Hunting Horn)
• This build feauters Earplugs level 3 and Stun Resistance level 3, making the healing application of Hunting Horn uninterrupted.
• Players can opt for a defensive playstyle with the Hunting Horn using this build.

Immortal Build Playstyle

Guard, Tank Attacks, and Heal

  1. Anticipate monster attacks and Guard. Perfect Guarding is highly encouraged, but it is not required.
  2. With this build, you can be an immovable rock with Defense Boost and Divine Blessing, and only attack when you want to. If you overextend and get hit, Speed Eating, Recovery up, and Recovery Speed will immediately get you back to full health.
  3. Remember that you have Earplugs at max, meaning that monster roars do not affect you. Use this time to set up an attack, or heal if you have to.

The aim of this build is to stay alive with little to no effort at all. Players can do this by imitating an immovable rock by holding down guard to tank monster attacks- protecting their fellow hunters and staying alive.
