Rathalos is in Every Monster Hunter Game

The Rathalos can be considered as the flagship monster of the entire series, as it has made an appearance in every single main series game, as well as in numerous spinoffs.

Has a Partner Monster

The Rathalos has a partner, the Rathian. If the Rathalos is called the King of the Skies, the Rathian is called the Queen of the Earth.

Although no information about the Rathian is currently available, it is likely that they will also be a returning monster in Monster Hunter Wilds.

Bring Antidotes to Counter its Poison

The Rathalos's tail can apply poison on you, specifically if it does it's summersault attack. Should you be hit by this attack, quickly consume an Antidote as the poison can take you down if you are not careful.

Bring Flash Pods to Ground it

As the King of the Skies, the Rathalos likes to fly around. To counter this, bring Flash Pods while it is flying to make it drop down.

Attack the Legs to Knock it Down

To easily knock the Rathalos down, you can focus its legs, as the Rathalos will trip and fall once enough damage is dealt. Once it is knocked down, either go for the tail or the head.

Cut Off Its Tail Quickly

To get rid of one of its poison attacks, and to lower its effective melee range, prioritize cutting the Rathalos tail off. You can do this by using a big weapon like a Long Sword or Great Sword, or by knocking it down and using other Slashing weapons.

Go for the Head

If you have already cut the Rathalos's tail off, focus your attacks on its head, as it the Rathalos's weak point. If you are using a Hammer or Hunting Horn, this is especially important as you can KO the Rathalos once you hit it enough times in the head.
