Artian Weapons are powerful endgame weapons that you can customize in Monster Hunter Wilds. Learn all about Artian Weapons and see how to unlock, craft, and upgrade them!
List of Contents

Artian Weapons are some of the most powerful weapons in the game, and are designed to be used and powered-up at the late stages of High Rank, which is the endgame point.
These weapons are customizable in that their bonus effects can be tweaked to your liking, all the while improving their damage output.

To unlock Artian Weapon crafting, you need to complete the Chapter 4 mission Wyvern Sparks and Rose Thorns where you will face your first Tempered monster, the Tempered Lala Barina.
Once you clear this mission, you will get a Damaged Weapon Shard material which will let you craft Artian I weapons. Tier 1 Tempered Monsters will also be unlocked, which can drop more Damaged Weapon Shards when defeated.
From there, you'll need to climb ranks to unlock higher tiers of Tempered monsters and get rarer weapon shards to craft stronger Artian weapons.
Walkthrough and List of Main Story Chapters
| 1 | ![]() After obtaining Artian weapon fragments, visit Gemma at the Smithy and select Forge Artian Weapons. |
|---|---|
| 2 | ![]() Select the weapon type that you want and select the weapon fragments that you want to use. Each weapon type has their own required materials, namely Blade, Device, Disc, or Tube. You can only use materials of the same rarity, which means that you cannot use Rarity 6 materials with Rarity 8. |
| 3 | ![]() Do note that each Artian Material may have different Element Types and Artian Bonuses, which will affect the final stat of the weapon. For example, if you use two materials with the same Element Type, the crafted Artian Weapon will have that element. |
| 3a | Crafted Artian Weapons can have either Attack Infusions or Affinity Infusions. Attack Infusions increase raw attack by 5, while Affinity Infusions increase critical hit rate by 5%. |
| 3b | Crafted Artian Weapons can also have elemental attributes. Choosing at least two weapon fragments with the same attributes will result to the Artian Weapon getting the same one. Combining three of the same element gives an Element Infusion, which gives a +20 or +30 stat bonus depending on the weapon type. Note that statuses like Blast and Poison have -150 Element, while Sleep and Paralysis have -200 Element compared to their typical base stat. |
| 4 | ![]() Once you have selected the materials that you want to use, select Forge to craft the weapon. You can then either equip it or store it in your inventory. |
| 4a | Do note that you cannot dismantle a crafted Artian Weapon and get the same Artian Materials back, so choose which material you want to use before forging the weapon. You will only get Reinforcement Materials when dismantling Artian Weapons, which are used to upgrade Artian Weapons. |

Defeating Tempered Monsters, which are tougher versions of regular monsters that are found once you reach High Rank, is the main way to get Artian Materials.
You can also get Artian Materials at the Melding Pot found in Suja, Peaks of Accord via Meld Relics.
Each weapon type has their own weapon fragment requirements. These range from Rarity 6 to Rarity 8, with the latter producing the strongest versions of Artian Weapons.

The best Artian Weapon rarity to use are those with Rarity 8, as these have high attack, can hold three decorations with up to three slots, and have a white sharpness.
You can aim to hunt Tempered Uth Duna, Rey Dau, Nu Udra, Jin Dahaad, Gore Magala, and Arkveld to farm for Rarity 8 materials. It is also recommended to take on investigations with two Tempered monsters as you'll get more weapon fragments.

Reinforcement gives random bonus stats to your Artian weapons. To upgrade your crafted Artian Weapons, talk to Gemma and select Reinforce/Dismantle Artian Weapons, and select Reinforce.
You need to use another type of material, which are called Reinforcement Materials, to upgrade Artian Weapons. Upgrading Artian Weapons work the same way as upgrading armor, as you need to use the materials to fill up the points required to raise the Artian Weapon's level.
The following are Reinforcement Bonuses that you may get when upgrading an Artian Weapon. Do note that the bonus an upgraded Artian Weapon can get is random.
| Artian Weapon Reinforcement Bonuses | |
|---|---|
| 1 | Attack Boost Attack +5 (Max x 5) |
| 2 | Affinity Boost Affinity +5 (Max x 3) |
| 3 | Element Boost Element Boost +20~80 (depending on weapon type) (Max x 4) |
| 4 | Sharpness Boost Sharpness +30 (+20 for Insect Glaive) (Max x 2) |
| 5 | Ammo Capacity Capacity Boost +1 Light Bowgun and Heavy Bowgun only (Max x 2) |
The Elemental Boost that an Artian weapon receives when reinforced varies per weapon, with the Heavy Bowgun and Light Bowgun unable to get this reinforcement.

Reinforcement Materials are mainly obtained from Festival Shares at the Smelting Foundry or from Nata.
You can also dismantle Artian Weapons to get more Reinforcement Materials, which can be useful should you get a random set of bonuses that do not fit your preferences. You can do this from the same selection when upgrading Artian Weapons and selecting Dismantle instead.
How to Farm Artian Reinforcement Materials
While not directly upgrading per se, you can craft higher tier versions of Artian Weapons as you obtain rarer weapon shards, which are Rusted Weapon Shards and Ancient Weapon Shards. These will allow you to craft the second and third Artian weapon trees and will become available once you reach HR 30 and HR 40 respectively.
Do note that all Artian I, II and the third Artian weapon tree are considered to be separate weapons and their upgrades are only tied to the weapon themselves. For example, you can upgrade an Artian I weapon up to level 5, but you won't be able to upgrade it to an Artian II weapon.

Artian Weapons are customizable due to how you can influence the weapon's element and innate bonus, but you can also reroll for the Reinforcement Bonuses that the weapons get upon upgrading them.
There are three tiers of Artian Weapons, each of these which require a different weapon shard material to be crafted, and are unlocked as you raise your HR.

| Artian Weapon Criteria |

| ★★★★: Artian Weapons made of this type are the strongest possible version. ★★★: Great when crafted, can be further enhanced with attributes. ★★: Has the potential to be strong with the correct attributes, but will take a lot of resources. ★: Regular weapons of the same type are stronger than the Artian Weapon. |

Artian Weapons are designed to be customizable based on how you want it to fit your playstyle. These weapons are worth crafting for as they can serve as your true endgame weapon for your build.
Artian Weapons can also hold three decorations, which can help if you want to fit more Weapon Skills in your build.
Builds and Best Armor for Each Weapon
You can opt to use Artian Weapons if you want to min-max your build and get as much stat boosts and skills as you want, which you can do so with how you craft the weapon and how you use its decoration slots.
If you're fine with missing out on some stats and skills, you can still use regular monster weapon and take advantage of their innate skills instead.
