What are Apex Monsters?

Apex Predators That Rule a Locale

Monster Hunter Wilds - Rey Dau

Apex Monsters are monsters that boast powerful elemental powers that make them the undisputed apex predator of their locale. There are 4 Apex Monsters and appear during Inclemency Events in their respective locales.

In Turf Wars, they will always win against regular monsters in fights unless they are already weakened by the hunter. The exception is Arkveld, who will always beat the Apex Monster in a Turf War.
